US cheese imports

American cheese imports have risen with the volume of YouTube uploads, which describes either a coincidence or a household rapidly outgrowing its appetites. There is no causal pathway. There is, however, a great deal of cheese.

Two unrelated growth stories. US cheese imports have grown as American palates broadened toward European varieties — French, Italian, Spanish — while YouTube's upload volume has grown explosively with smartphone cameras and the creator economy. Two parallel rises sharing nothing but a calendar.

So the correlation is the dairy aisle and the upload queue, both swelling. Neither knows the other exists. Both keep growing regardless.
