By accessing or using the Spurious website (getspurious.com) and mobile application (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Spurious is an educational and entertainment platform that displays statistical correlations between unrelated datasets. The correlations shown are calculated from real data but are presented for humor and educational purposes. The Service does not claim or imply causal relationships between any datasets.
3. Use of Content
The correlations, charts, and data visualizations on Spurious are provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may share individual correlations on social media with attribution. Bulk scraping, reproduction, or commercial use of the content requires written permission.
4. Data Accuracy
While we strive to use accurate, publicly available data, we make no warranties about the completeness or accuracy of any dataset or correlation. The statistical calculations are provided “as is” for entertainment and educational purposes.
5. User-Uploaded Data
If you upload data for correlation analysis, it is processed locally in your browser and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. You retain all rights to any data you upload.
6. In-App Purchases
The mobile application offers an optional ad-removal purchase. This purchase is processed through Apple's App Store and is subject to Apple's terms and refund policies. The purchase applies to the device and Apple ID used for the transaction.
7. Advertising
The Service displays advertisements via Google AdSense (web) and Google AdMob (mobile app). Ad content is determined by Google and is subject to Google's advertising policies. We do not control which ads are shown.
8. Limitation of Liability
Spurious is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any decisions made based on the correlations or data shown on the Service. Remember: correlation does not imply causation.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
